“antibook bd” are two correlated booklets by Berlin based artist Jean-Michel Wicker. The publications present two different photographic ‘recordings’ of work in process in the artist’s studio.
Even though the booklets seem the same at first glance, the lower half displays an antibook in two different positions, open and closed. Each booklet contains one position and this image is singly reproduced repeatedly throughout. As the book opens, the letter cutouts also unfold and the letter b turns into letter d. This mirroring portrays the actions of reading and seeing.
Published on the occasion of the artist’s solo exhibition ‘antibook neonevvconcrrrretistas e ffffffuturrrrristas’ at Midway Contemporary Art, Minneapolis, 2018. The copies are signed, dated, numbered and limited to only two copies, making it highly collectible.
