This is the first edition of John Baldessari’s first artist book. It takes the form of a hole-punched hanging wall calendar and features ten b/w photographs with a parable printed text translated in four languages on the adjacent page beneath them. The ten parables are titled as ‘Ingres’, ‘The Contract’, ‘The Wait’, ‘The Neon Story’, ‘The Best Way To Do Art’, ‘Art History’, ‘The Great Artist’, ‘Two Artists’ and ‘The Visitor’.
