Part of the French underground press, La Presse Pirate contains comics, poems, jokes, letters from fans and reviews on other underground publications. Distributed during the first Angoulême International Comics Festival and featuring much nudity, it was censored by the organiser when a copy was found on a 14-year-old girl and her mother complained to the authorities. The other fanzine comrades decided to close their stands in protest against this censorship.
