Founded in 1969 by Paul Mariah, a pioneer of the gay literary scene and coedited with Richard Tagett, ManRoot is a gay poetry and literary magazine, which ran until 1981. Twelve issues were published alongside with thirty monographs under the name Manroot books. Many leading writers of the time were published, such as Jack Spicer, James Broughton, Robert Peters, and Thom Gunn. This eleventh issue is a collection of poems, letters and illustrations of horses. Includes contributions by William Talen (who later became Reverend Billy), John Digby, Paul Eluard, Stephen Kessler, to name a few.
