This catalogue with texts by Barbara Straka and Ulla Frohne was published to accompany a group exhibition on the theme of photocollage at the NGBK Realismusstudio 24 in Berlin from 3 to 28 October 1983.
Each of the artists involved has one page of biographical and oeuvre data, and five pages of illustrations:
Rudolf Bonvie: 5 works from the series “La chasse photographique est ouverte” (1980-1982) / Georg Herold: 5 photocollages on “Das Bild als Verleumder” (1983) / Martin Kippenberger: 5 works from the series “Abschied von Jugendbonus” (1982/1983), Albert Oehlen: 5 works from the series: “Ewige Feile” (1983) / Thomas Wachweger: 5 photomontages (1970-1976) / Ilona and Wolfgang Weber: works from the series “In einer Dekadenz die Veredelung des Produkts” (c.1970).
Barbara Straka writes about Kippenberger’s works: “…there is a tendency here to use the specialist reading of the petty bourgeois, nudist leaflets of the lowest category, reproduced in print, pasted over, sprayed over, torn, etc.: the levels of found and reproduced illustrations, objective material and anarchic-subjective processing overlap. …”
