Rochelle Feinstein (born 1947) has long been influential as both an abstract painter and an educator (she was one of the first women to be tenured at in the Visual Arts at Yale, where she still teaches). At once social commentary and autobiographical incidents, Feinstein’s work offers a biting reflection on the role of an artist working in the arena that is painting in America today.

This book has been published on the occasion of Feinstein’s 2016–18 exhibition series at Centre d’Art Contemporain Genève, Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus, Munich, kestnergesellschaft, Hannover and the Bronx Museum, New York City.
