(Beiles, Sinclair). Bellaart, Gerard, ed.

£110

Collection of poetry and verse plays by South African poet Sinclair Beiles. Beiles was a key figure in the Paris circle of Beat writers and, along with Burroughs and Gysin, is credited with creating the ‘cut-up’ technique. The theme of heroin use runs throughout the book as exemplified by “The Needle Vestal,” a verse play about heroin addiction that includes a ballet called “The Heroin Harvest Festival”.

Edited and produced by visual artist Gerard Bellaart, Cold Turkey Press was a 1970s Dutch publisher of Beat works whose output included Dutch translations of Burroughs and Ginsberg et al.
