Feldmann’s ‘Telephone Book’ presents 25 black-and-white photographs of a telephone box in which a woman in a miniskirt stands with her back to the viewer, talking on the phone. Each photograph is almost identical to the previous and the next, with only the position of the woman holding the telephone being slightly different: in other words, it is a variation for which there is an infinite number of possible additions in our memory, and which derives from our visual experience.
